Boilknot The Second: Minneapolis Masterclass

Join Sam for a weekend masterclass at The Forge!

The main purpose of this class is to teach better painting and Sam's approach to the craft. Seating is limited to 15 in order for each student to receive one on one time as well as the broader lesson.

The topics used to share these concepts will be:
-Numbers and topography
-Details of the flesh
-Environmental NMM
-All the brush techniques needed for controlled painting
-The textured approach

Students will receive:
-A class workbook to illustrate the lesson and serve as a reminder of the information covered.
-A prepped and primed copy of the custom model, Boilknot. Sculpted by Carl Gangnon and awarded Silver in the MPO standard category.
-5 bottles of paint, Fiery Vermillion, Grey Castle, Gothic Blue, The Darkness, and Space Dust.

What to bring:
-You favored paints. In addition to the useful color provided, students will be choosing their own color scheme, with some guidance. It's important that you have options.
-best brushes large and small.
-A wet pallet
-A lamp.

The Forge is located at 230 Pioneer Trail, Chaska, MN 55318.
Class will run from 10-6pm with an hour break for lunch.

Why is it called Boilknot the Second? Well, Boilknot seems a fitting name for a troll and 'the second' because this is the second run of weekend courses. The first being last year in 2025.
