Join Sam in a weekend of painting mastery. This class has been created to target a variety of materials and their interaction with the light. As well, it is about brush control and a unique handle on traditional techniques, sharing 20+ years of experience as we paint together.

What we will cover:

Mainly, Fur, Non Metallic Metal, Cloth, Armor, and a Painted Backdrop. This will take most of the time but there will be smaller areas of note. Students will learn a variety of useful and related skills in the miniature art. Within these, topics on value control, color influence, precision, reflectivity, portion control, and better execution will be covered.

The backdrop will be a simple, approachable mountain range. Choosing which color the model is presented against is a valuable tool of composition.

Students will be guided in their color choices as they create a scheme. In artwork there is no law, but there are suggestions. You may paint as you choose but are encouraged to follow the example model.

What will be provided:

-The model, a Polaris Bearpode from the game Infinity.

-A plinth and portion of plasticard for the backdrop.

-A helpful booklet written on The Bear

What you will need:

-Students should bring their preferred brushes, large and fine, a wet pallet, and selection of paints. Anything that is a part of your toolset, bring it along. Lighting will be provided.

-Equivalent colors to those listed below.

Uniform Grey, Grey Castle, Barren Dune, Space dust, Ice Yellow, Patagon Pine, Forest Faun, Amy Green, Guardian Green, Banshee Brown, Tainted Garden, Leather Brown, Sunburst Ochre, Burning Ore, The Darkness, Royal Blue, Aegis Aqua, Night Sky, Flag Red, Barbarian Flesh, Black, White, and Grimdark Shadow Wash.
